Biographical Information

 

Hasim Saydan was born 1954 in Tercan, the eastern part of Turkey, and has resided in Berlin since 1977.

He studied painting and graphics at Berlin University of the Arts in the master class of Professor Bergmann from 1979 until 1984.

The main subjects of his work have been still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes, scenes of everyday life, dance and body language as well as portraits. He is always interested in individuals from different cultures, their fates and beliefs. Many works focus on aspects of migration, life in exile as well as the societal oppression of women.

Hasim works with tempera, oil, acryl and watercolours. Implemented techniques include drawing, etchings and an emphasis in lithography today.

Hasim Saydan is a freelance artist in Berlin-Charlottenburg. He has presented his works in a number of domestic and international exhibitions.
